She loves staying active and is looking forward to exploring ways to stay fit in Spain!
What motivated you to choose Spain for your study abroad destination?
I chose Spain for my study abroad destination because I have never been and it has always been on my bucket list of places to travel to! Also, I have been studying Spanish for a long time, even receiving a minor in it. I have wanted to do an immersive experience to improve my Spanish conversational skills but I never had the opportunity to do it (until now!)
What are your future career goals?
I will be starting graduate school in the fall to receive a master’s in public health in behavioral sciences and health education.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Some of my proudest accomplishments have been related to my current job as a behavior technician for children who have autism spectrum disorder. In my year of working as a behavior tech, I have been able to directly help many children make significant improvements in their social skills, education, emotion regulation, daily living skills, and happiness. It is amazing to see the great progress that my clients make, especially with the client that I have been working with since the very start, who used to have very difficult behaviors but has improved leaps and bounds.
What organizations are you involved in on campus?
On campus, I was involved in many different organizations. Some of my favorite ones include the Health Sciences Scholars Program (Freshman live-in learning community), Alternative Spring Break (where I discovered my passion for public health), H2 Kids (providing comprehensive health education to children in under-served communities), and a pre-health professional fraternity called Delta Epsilon Mu (where I was a founding class member and vice president, and helped establish and develop a brand new fraternity on campus).
What are some of the things/places on your bucket list?
I have many things on my bucket list, but I would love to visit Greece and Italy at some point, along with a lot of other European countries. Other things include skydiving (if I somehow get the courage to do it), and developing the ability to sing well.
