Meet Evan Solnik from the University of Vermont! This summer, Evan will be joining our Summer Internship in Spain program! We look forward to welcoming him in La Coruña!

Tell us more about you. “I love to play music! I play guitar, bass, piano, and drums. I also enjoy skiing and a little yoga. I’m really excited to explore La Coruña and try lots of new things!”

What motivated you to apply for this program? “I want to push myself to improve my Spanish outside of a classroom setting. I think that by living and working in La Coruña I’ll be one step closer to becoming fluent, while getting to experience an entirely different culture.”

What motivated you to choose Spain? “I have a friend who lives in Barcelona and he is always telling me about how amazing Spain is and how I just HAVE to come experience it for myself, so here I am!”

What organizations are you involved in on campus? “I´m in a student band. We play local school events as well as house shows and pop up shows around campus.”

What are your future career goals? “I’m still an undecided major; but, I’m currently looking into classes on law or international relations. While I’m not sure what my future career path will be, I’m positive that whatever I choose will give me the ability to positively impact the lives of those around me.”

What are some of the places/things on your bucket list?
“I want to backpack through Europe and Asia, play a concert for at least 10,000 people, and high five some sort of big fish or shark while scuba diving.”

What is your proudest accomplishment? “I’m proud that I found small-time success with my hometown band. We played together from 2nd grade until we graduated high school and got to perform at tons of venues and even racked up over 15,000 streams on Spotify. I’m so glad I got to share that with them.”
