Meet Angellah Mwafongo from Lilongwe, Malawi! She is a recent graduate of the African Leadership University. This summer, Angellah will be interning through Linguistic Horizons in the UK!
Tell us more about you:
I’m a Social Scientist who loves advocacy work and open-minded people. My favorite things to do include creative writing, listening to the same 10 songs at a time and watching YouTube video essays about any and everything. I hope to make a difference in the world.
What is your main motivation for participating in the program?
After graduating and coming back home, I sought out many opportunities to give me an entry point into the international market. I plan to work in diplomacy and internships are a great way to gain experience, make connections and network with people that can get me to where I want to be.
What are some of the places/things on your bucket list?
I want to visit (maybe even live in for a while) Amsterdam one day. It’s a gorgeous place.
What are your future career goals?
I hope to publish academic and fictional books of my own, travel as a part of my work and make an impact on the educational system in my country.
What is your favorite quote?
“At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet” – Plato
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Graduating. It’s something I always believed was a given for me, but after the obstacles I faced in my last year, I am proud I followed through.
