Meet Lorenzo Sgarbi from Emory University! This summer, Lorenzo will be joining our Summer Study Spanish & Intern in Spain program! He will be dedicating 10 weeks to improving his Spanish language skills while interning at a Spanish company. We look forward to welcoming him in A Coruña, Spain!

Tell us more about you. “I am a rising sophomore at Oxford College of Emory University. Although I am currently undecided, I am interested in studying Spanish and Sociology. Outside of school, I also enjoy traveling, playing tabletop games, and dancing.”

What is your main motivation for participating in the program? “I am looking into continuing learning and studying Spanish in college, and I feel that this program will enrich my Spanish language skills while giving me an interactive look into what fields and careers I am interested in pursuing later down my college path.”

What motivated you to choose Spain? “I have never visited Spain, so I feel like this program will give me an excellent opportunity to immerse myself in the country for the first time.”

What organizations are you involved in on campus? “Currently, I am an active member of my university’s social club (Dooley’s Dolls) and autism advocacy organization (AAO).”

What are some of the places/things on your bucket list?
“Some of the items on my bucket list include parasailing, visiting Japan, and trying every exotic fruit in the world.”

What are your future career goals? “Currently, I am thinking about pursuing a career in the field of education as I have enjoyed teaching people through other internship and volunteer programs I participated in.”

What is your proudest accomplishment? “My proudest accomplishment was traveling by myself for the first time to Costa Rica for 8 weeks last summer.”
