Meet Kellie Corbett! Kellie will be participating in our Europe Internships program this summer in Annecy, France! Kellie is looking forward to gaining experience in a bilingual French/English school while improving her French through immersion.
What motivated you to choose France?
I have been studying French since 8th grade. My junior year of high school I got the chance to visit Paris; and, I fell in love. I’ve been choosing France ever since that moment.
What are your future career goals?
After I finish my degree, I would like to teach English as a second language in France for a couple years. Then, I would like to return to the United States to get my masters in Education, and eventually start teaching ESL in the United States. My ultimate goal is to work in education reform.
What are some of the things/places on your bucket list?
I really want to spend some time in Spain, Sweden, and francophone Africa. Also, I want to master the French language
On campus I work as an RA and I also work at the library. I am involved in RHA (residence housing association), NRHH (National Residence Hall Honoree), and I am site leader for Alternative Breaks.
What is your favorite word or saying in French?
Vagabonder- the French word for wander or roam around
